Full Consideration Date: 7/30/2026 Job Description: UNI’s Housing & Dining Facilities team keeps campus running, and our Facilities Mechanic IIIs are at the heart of it! From residence halls to dining centers, you’ll take on meaningful, hands‑on work that keeps student spaces safe, comfortable and fully functional. If you’re experienced in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and ready to put your craft to work where it truly matters, this role is built for you.

Primary Function: Under general supervision, performs plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and all other duties needed to maintain student apartments, residence halls and dining centers.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Must possess a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, maintenance of steam and mechanical equipment; and must have four years of work experience in the listed crafts, including apprenticeship or technical training. At least two years of that experience must be in the same craft. State of Iowa license (Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical) preferred.

Position Details: Job Category: Merit Type of Position: Regular Service Schedule: Calendar Year Shift: First Shift Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Pay Grade: 10 (advanced start step of 8) Starting Hourly Rate: $28.66 hr. (potential for higher starting wage based on qualifications up to the pay grade maximum of $31.02)
