Position: Die Cutter Operator Location: Waco, TX Shift: Rotating Shifts | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts may be required) Pay Rate: $23.59/hour
Summary Description The Die Cutter Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and monitoring DC5 and DC6 converting equipment to produce flexible packaging products that meet customer specifications. This role controls web handling, die cutting, registration, and material flow while performing quality inspections, minimizing waste, and supporting safe, efficient production.
What You'll Be Doing
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and verify machine guards, safety devices, and work areas are ready for operation.
• Review job specifications, work orders, materials, tooling, and quality requirements prior to setup.
• Set up and operate DC5 and DC6 die cutting equipment, including:
• Material loading
• Web path setup
• Unwind and festoon systems
• Tension and draw settings
• Die station setup
• Registration controls
• Monitor production and make machine adjustments to maintain registration, cut quality, web control, and production efficiency.
• Perform in-process quality inspections and identify product defects or process deviations.
• Quarantine suspect product and notify Quality or production leadership when necessary.
• Accurately record production output, downtime, waste, quality inspections, and job information.
• Troubleshoot routine machine issues and communicate equipment abnormalities promptly.
• Support maintenance personnel during repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers.
• Safely operate hoists, manipulators, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized.
• Complete required daily equipment inspections.
• Support efficient changeovers and accurate shift handoffs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area through 5S and housekeeping practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
We'd Love to Hear From You If
• You have a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is preferred.
• Experience in die cutting, flexible packaging, web handling, or converting operations is a plus.
• You have strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy troubleshooting equipment.
• You can read and follow job specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• You possess basic math, measurement, computer, and production documentation skills.
• You have excellent attention to detail and can recognize registration, cut quality, material, and process abnormalities.
• You are committed to workplace safety and consistently follow PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• You communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
• You are willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and 12-hour schedules as business needs require.
• You are able to perform the physical demands of a manufacturing environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
