[What the role is] This is a temporary role on 11-month contract. [What you will be working on]
• Provide individualised support to students in managing challenging behaviours in school, including support management for meltdowns • Support the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to implement behaviour interventions and learning support plans for students with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders • Maintain records of student progress and interventions implemented • Assist with organising, implementing, and facilitating training and advocacy programmes for students with SEN • Partner with SEN team, academic team and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment conducive to the success of students with SEN • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the student system's (STAR) Case Management module
[What we are looking for]
• Passion and disposition to care for and work with students with SEN • Relevant qualifications in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas preferred • At least 3 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting preferred • Resourceful and good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting • Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills • IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Experience in facilitating workshop and events management would be an advantage
