Job Title Financial Control Specialist Department Finance Department Time Type Full time Role Summary We are looking for a Financial Control Specialist to join our Regional Headquarters in Delft. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring robust financial controls, maintaining data integrity across finance systems, and supporting accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement across our European operations. Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls across the region in line with Group standards. • Coordinate SOX and financial control testing activities, including remediation and audit support. • Monitor deficiencies and drive corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. • Provide financial oversight and support for projects, including invoicing, reporting, forecasting, cash flow, and risk management. • Assist with project reviews, risk identification, and the management of commercial matters such as claims and insurance cases. • Act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and operational teams, ensuring the integrity of financial data flows between business systems and SAP FI/CO. • Support month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and SAP FI/CO-related activities. • Drive process improvements, standardization, and the resolution of data and system discrepancies. • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience. • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
• HBO or SPD qualification is an advantage. • Solid understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and internal controls. • Practical experience with SAP FI/CO and financial data management. • Knowledge of financial system integrations, interfaces, and data flows. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. • Experience with reconciliations, data validation, and control-related activities. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Finance and IT stakeholders. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to work. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
