The Preregistration Representative is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for ensuring patients have a smooth and positive experience from the start of their care journey. This role focuses on accurate registration, insurance verification, and communication with patients, providers, and hospital departments to support timely and efficient access to care.

 Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain accurate patient accounts by reviewing schedules, verifying demographics, and ensuring information is complete within the Hospital Information System.
• Communicate with patients, physician offices, and internal teams to collect and validate registration, insurance, and personal information.
• Provide exceptional customer service while supporting patients and families through the registration and pre-registration process.
• Research and resolve missing, inaccurate, or incomplete information to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Collaborate with Patient Access teams and hospital departments to support efficient workflows and quality patient care.
• Develop expertise in registration, insurance verification, and hospital systems through ongoing training and cross-functional learning opportunities.
• Prioritize daily tasks while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and department standards.
• Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years of college coursework preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Three to five years of healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Three to five years of customer service experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, the public, and all levels of staff and leadership.
• Basic Microsoft Excel experience preferred for monthly reporting needs.
• Typing and ten-key skills required.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
