About this role

We are looking for a motivated Intern (f/m/d) to support our embedded software development activities in the automotive domain. You will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects with complex networking challenges in Automotive Ethernet, communication stacks, and system-level debugging. This role offers hands-on exposure to developing automotive software of excellent quality and is ideal for students who want to deepen their practical skills alongside their studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded C software for automotive ECUs • Work with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments to develop standalone SW for automotive use cases. • Debug software and hardware issues using Lauterbach, P&E Micro, or similar tools • Perform root-cause analysis of software and HW-related faults • Support software design, and documentation activities

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded or Automotive Systems • Strong C programming skills for embedded systems • Familiarity with OSI layers, AUTOSAR communication and diagnostics concepts • Experience with at least one RTOS or embedded OS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux) • Experience with low-level debugging and hardware bring-up • Good software design and analytical skills

The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
