We are seeking a Security Governance Lead to join our Security team and play a key role in strengthening and assuring our security governance framework across the business. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of Defence security, partnering with stakeholders across multiple programs and locations to ensure we maintain the highest standards of compliance, risk management and assurance.

Your role:

As the Security Governance Lead, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing Northrop Grumman Australia's security governance and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations and broader protective security requirements. Working closely with Security Officers, business leaders and Defence stakeholders, you will help drive a culture of security excellence across our organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the Security Assurance Calendar and supporting ongoing DISP compliance activities.

• Providing expert advice and guidance on security governance requirements, including the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM) and Defence contractual obligations.

• Conducting security assurance activities, including audit preparation, evidence collection and compliance reporting.

• Identifying, assessing and tracking security risks, vulnerabilities and mitigation activities.

• Developing and maintaining protective security policies, procedures, processes and work instructions.

• Supporting security reporting requirements for both internal leadership and Defence stakeholders.

• Improving security governance tools, reporting frameworks and compliance monitoring capabilities, including dashboard and SharePoint-based solutions.

• Supporting the uplift of security maturity across the organisation and supply chain.

• Contributing to operational security activities and broader Security Function priorities as required.

About you:

You are a security professional who combines strong knowledge of governance with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You enjoy working across complex environments, building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve positive security outcomes.

You will bring:

• Experience in security governance, compliance, assurance, risk management or protective security within Defence, government or a highly regulated environment.

• Strong knowledge of DISP, PSPF, DSPF, ISM or similar security frameworks.

• Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to analyse complex information and provide practical security advice.

• Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams and varying levels of seniority.

• Experience developing reporting tools, dashboards and governance solutions using SharePoint and Power BI.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

• An ability to work collaboratively while also exercising sound judgement and autonomy.

• A commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a strong security culture.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance up to NV2/PV.

• Ability to complete the Security Officer course within six months of appointment.

• Certificate IV in Security Operations, Government Security, Security Risk Management or an equivalent qualification is highly regarded.

• Experience in Defence or armament program governance will be viewed favourably.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
