Job Description Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The histologic techniques include fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining of human and animal tissue for evaluation.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent preferred, however, if not certified, must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible, certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire, until certification achieved salary will be 10% less.
