Job Description:

Job Disclosures: Location: (On-Site) Los Angeles, CA Compensation: The salary range for this position is $70,440 to $79,245. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated position grade, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Job Summary: The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager will work under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager. This position is responsible for a continuation of the Meow Wolf experience that transports guests through a rotating menu of experiential food and drink offerings, as well as a variety of grab-&-go-style food options. This position will work day or night shifts and encompasses the responsibilities of a Barista, Bartender, Cook, and Food Server. These F&B team members prepare a variety of beverages, meal options, interact with guests, and assess guest needs and preferences to make menu recommendations. We encourage Bartenders to elevate the narrative within our story world by executing their job duties with a performative and creative flair.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all job positions needed to operate a Food and Beverage location from food prep, drink prep, bussing, serving, cash register, etc.

• Deliver a memorable guest experience through exceptional customer service

• Perform job responsibilities with a creative flair that elevates the exhibition narrative

• Assist in the hiring and training of staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests

• Enforce proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance

• Manage labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for site

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

• Assist in planning and supporting promotional and special events in the venue, lounge, art gallery, corporate events, etc.

• Maintain all vendor and community relationships

• Assist in leading, developing, and managing a F&B team that encourages high Guest Service with talent growth and development

• Actively listen to and resolve complaints

• Work with the Scheduling Manager to ensure schedules are efficient and effective

• Set and maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness throughout the food and beverage locations including safe food handling

• Respond to injuries and emergencies appropriately

• Restock and replenish F&B inventory and supplies

• Work with the F&B Manager on inventory management and purchasing

• Remain knowledgeable on menu offerings and make recommendations based on guest preferences

• Collaborate with other team members to create and maintain a pleasant environment for guests

• Ensure staff is in compliance with all food and beverage regulations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years management experience in entertainment/hospitality/operations environment

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Proven work experience as an F&B Assistant Manager, Bar Assistant Manager, Assistant Food Manager or similar role

• Hands-on experience with point-of-sale systems

• Proven experience managing and achieving budgets

• Extensive knowledge of food service, liquor, bartending and service protocols

• Strong service skills and welcoming demeanor required

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays

• Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification

• TIPS Certification

• Prior experience with visual merchandising preferred

• Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Supervisor Responsibilities: This position does require supervisory responsibility.
