Role Description

As a Genetic Counselor on the Clinical Genetic Counseling Team at BillionToOne, you will provide patient counseling and contribute to test report drafting for the UNITY Fetal Risk™ Screen and related offerings. In this role, you will join a high-performing team supporting a groundbreaking test that addresses a critical unmet medical need. Leveraging your experience at BillionToOne, you will bring deep knowledge of our data systems and the complexities of the UNITY platform. You will also serve as a key liaison between clinical and laboratory teams, helping to ensure seamless integration of patient care and reporting.

Provide pre-test and post-test genetic counseling to patients for BillionToOne’s test offerings, including carrier screening with reflex single-gene NIPT, aneuploidy NIPT, and NIPT for fetal antigen conditions. Draft accurate and timely test reports for ordering providers, ensuring a high level of attention to detail. Contribute to the development of patient and provider educational materials. Communicate test results to providers as needed. Obtain and maintain genetic counseling licensure as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in genetic counseling or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in prenatal genetic counseling (required). Fluency in Spanish, with the ability to conduct consultations with Spanish-speaking patients (strongly preferred). ABGC certification and active licensure in home state, if applicable. Multi-state licensure (preferred). Experience with variant interpretation (preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality genetic counseling and customer service. Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

For this position, we offer a total compensation package of up to $173,274 per year, including a base pay range of $128,622 - $139,340 per year.
