We are working in partnership with Riverside, within a recently re-furbished modern kitchen with great facilities. A great flexible team leader with a proven track record is sought for this role.

ROLE AND PURPOSE

This post requires a Cook to lead manage and develop the catering service provision to the customers served by the Council’s Catering Department. Effective management and craft skills are essential in this position. Also, must possess ability to create menus, produce nutritional data showing compliance with food standards for the Caroline Walker Trust standards for adults and be up to date with current trends in the commercial catering with ability and skill to research, develop and produce new dishes. must also possess the ability to train others where improvements are needed.

This post requires a modern approach to individual employees and team development, which will also require coaching/training and development skills to ensure the department, achieves its objectives. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. To develop the service in line with management and Government guidelines.

2. Statutory Obligations - To maintain an organised, safe and hygienic working environment in accordance with current legislation and corporate policies. HACCP/Natasha’s Law legislation.

3. To produce, develop all menus and providing a consistently high-quality service to our customers.

4. To lead, develop and support a customer focused workforce.

5. To order goods, supplies and services from nominated suppliers in accordance with corporate, divisional, and departmental procedures and administration processes.

6. To develop and train all employees and administration processes through induction, achievement, and development interviews and on site-based training.

7. To organise and record details of regular meetings with staff/managers /site managers/customers and tenants’ meetings.

8. To promote the aims and objectives of the department in a professional manner to both internal and external partnerships.

9. To work closely with Catering Manager to develop a focused customer-based service.

10. To reconcile and control all on site cash/income processes and procedures.

11. To manage the day-to-day administration of the computerised pre-payment till systems on site computer systems, kitchen cypad manager for all monitoring and procedures.

12. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate H&S policy.
