Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading 1st shift production operations at the Acorn Plant, including tray packing, tray pack preparation, and trayless pack activities. This role ensures a safe, well-organized, efficient operation with minimal downtime while maintaining company standards, customer specifications, quality expectations, GMP requirements, HACCP compliance, and accurate production recordkeeping. The Production Supervisor assigns, trains, coaches, and monitors team members in accordance with company policies and applicable government regulations, while supporting production efficiency, team member development, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all activities involved in tray packing, tray pack preparation, and trayless pack operations.
• Ensure a safe, organized, efficient production environment with minimal downtime.
• Coordinate line work to meet production orders in collaboration with team members, leads, and other departments.
• Maintain product quality standards and ensure customer specifications are met.
• Maintain department performance within established standards for efficient use of human resources, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain and report production-related information regarding yields, efficiencies, labor utilization, and other key performance measures to the Superintendent.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in materials, processes, lean manufacturing, and total quality management.
• Ensure production processes and products adhere to GMP standards, customer specifications, and the company’s HACCP Plan.
• Ensure HACCP recordkeeping and related documentation are completed and maintained accurately.
• Partner with maintenance staff, outside vendors, the Maintenance Manager, and the Plant Manager to ensure equipment and work areas are appropriately maintained and operating continuously and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management personnel and USDA representatives.
• Establish norms and standards for department performance and stay current with developments in management and process optimization.
• Mentor and motivate approximately 40 team members by providing training and development to support performance and personal growth.
• Communicate performance standards to team members, recognize and reward individual and team accomplishments, and counsel performance concerns as needed.
• Communicate standards and ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, GMPs, and HACCP procedures.
• Train team members on safety regulations and practices and enforce safe work behaviors.
• Manage staffing, line coverage, and attendance for the assigned shift.
• Facilitate team meetings, including team member training, and ensure appropriate documentation is completed and maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000
Additional Compensation: KPI-based incentive program.
The posted compensation range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum amount Farmer Focus in good faith expects to pay at the time of posting, based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, market data, and the budgeted amount available for the position.

Qualifications
• Two years of proven supervisory experience in process optimization, operations, manufacturing, or business management required.
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to recognize changes in production needs or operating conditions and respond appropriately.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and uncompromising regard for quality, safety, and GMP standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of team members, leaders, and cross-functional partners.
• Demonstrated ability to guide others effectively and positively influence team member attitude, engagement, and performance.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety, quality standards, production recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred but not required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing and poultry production environment. This role requires access to production areas, production lines, team member work areas, and other operational spaces throughout the plant. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in the production area. Hair and beard nets are required in the production area. Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on task, location, and safety requirements. This position may require standing for long periods, walking, bending, reaching, working near production equipment, accessing production lines, and supporting team members throughout the department. The role may also require working in a fast-paced environment where production needs, staffing needs, and operational priorities can change quickly.
