Data Steward
We are currently looking for a Data Steward whose main goal will be to establish clear ownership and accountability for workforce data quality across HR, ensuring each data domain is actively managed, governed, and trusted. The Data Steward operationalises the domain ownership model, working across HR to embed consistent standards, resolve data quality issues, and build confidence in the workforce data that underpins reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making.
Why this role matters?
Ownership of workforce data has shifted to a domain ownership model, where each domain is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and integrity of its own data. Responsibility for enabling and governing this ownership now sits within the Analytics team, as part of the broader HR Operating Model changes. Historically, workforce data quality has lacked clear ownership and accountability — resulting in inconsistent standards, poor data quality, and limited confidence in reporting and insights. Without dedicated stewardship, domain ownership risks remaining unclear and inconsistently applied across HR.
You will join a team of 4 and report directly to HR Analytics Manager.
Main responsibilities: Data Quality Governance
• Define and maintain workforce data quality standards across HR domains • Establish data quality KPIs and thresholds in collaboration with domain owners • Conduct regular data quality assessments and produce governance reporting • Own the data quality issue log — tracking, prioritising, and driving resolution
Domain Ownership Enablement
• Support HR domain owners in understanding and fulfilling their data accountability • Develop onboarding materials, guidance, and toolkits for domain owners • Run enablement sessions and provide ongoing coaching to embed data ownership practices • Serve as the primary point of contact for domain owners on data quality matters
Standards & Definitions
• Maintain the HR data dictionary — ensuring consistent definitions across all domains • Govern data entry standards and validation rules in HR systems (incl. Workday) • Identify and resolve definitional inconsistencies across reporting and analytics outputs • Partner with HR Technology and IT to implement system-level data quality controls
Monitoring & Issue Resolution
• Design and operate data quality monitoring routines across HR data domains • Escalate systemic or unresolved issues to the Head of HR Strategy, Data & Technology • Coordinate with domain owners and technical teams to investigate root causes • Track issue resolution and report on progress against quality targets
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Act as the bridge between HR, IT, and Finance on workforce data quality topics • Coordinate with the Analytics team to ensure reporting is built on trusted data • Represent HR data governance in relevant forums and working groups • Support audit and compliance activities relating to workforce data integrity
Continuous Improvement
• Identify and implement improvements to data collection, validation, and maintenance processes • Monitor industry developments in HR data governance and propose relevant adoption • Build a continuous improvement cycle for workforce data quality, supported by metrics
Requirements:
• Experience in data governance, data quality management, or a related HR analytics role • Understanding of HR data domains (e.g. headcount, compensation, performance, learning) • Ability to translate data governance concepts into practical, operational processes • Strong stakeholder management — able to engage and influence without direct authority • Experience working with HR information systems (Workday preferred) • Structured approach to problem-solving and issue resolution • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English • Exposure to HR analytics, reporting, or BI tooling or experience in data engineering, experience in a global or matrixed organisation and knowledge of global and local data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, local privacy laws) regarding the handling of sensitive employee information are an additional asset
Where you'll be:
This is a full-time position, based at Kungsholmen in Stockholm, Sweden.
We work with 20% work-place flexibility, fostering collaboration and a strong team spirit at our Global Headquarters. We are 60+ nationalities under the same roof and we enjoy the look and feel of the office! You will be part of a dynamic international team where English is the natural language.
