The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Retail Specialty performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area.
Essential Job Function • Oversees and directs pharmacy workflow including receiving and transcribing orders; answering phones; selling prescriptions; nonsterile compounding; and managing and maintaining automation. • Maintains pharmacy inventory. • Teaches other pharmacy technicians specialized job skills in order to support workplace learning. • Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees. • Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience • Required: 7 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing • Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
