General Description: The TWA - CTE Coordinator will enhance Career and Technical Education (CTE) program quality and accountability by managing state reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely data submission, and maintaining compliance with VDOE and Perkins requirements. This position will lead efforts to audit and improve curriculum across middle and high school programs, ensuring alignment with state standards, industry expectations, and Programs of Study while using data to guide continuous improvement. Staff will also support the development and alignment of CTE Programs of Study with career pathways and workforce trends, and oversee the implementation and tracking of Industry-Recognized Credentials to improve student outcomes. This work includes providing training, supporting teachers, facilitating data analysis, and collaborating closely with CTE leadership and relevant departments to ensure cohesive program development and effectiveness. Job Description: Essential Job Functions: CTE State Reporting (Compliance & Accountability)
• Manages CTE state reporting processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with VDOE requirements (Reports including IRC, SRC, MSC)
• Collects, verifies, and submits data related to enrollment, concentrators, completers, and performance indicators
• Monitors data quality and troubleshoots discrepancies in collaboration with school staff
• Prepares division-level summaries and reports to support state and federal accountability measures
• Provides guidance and training to teachers and school staff on data entry procedures and reporting expectations
• Coordinates with the CTE Director and relevant departments to ensure alignment and compliance
CTE Curriculum Audit (Program Evaluation & Instructional Alignment)
• Designs and implements a systematic CTE curriculum audit process across middle and high school programs focusing on student competency records, grades, and IRC attainment
• Reviews curriculum for alignment with VDOE standards, industry expectations, and CTE Programs of Study
• Evaluates instructional materials, pacing, and assessments to ensure rigor, relevance, and consistency
• Analyzes student performance and credential attainment data to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement
• Provides actionable feedback and recommendations to teachers and program leaders
• Supports curriculum revision and continuous improvement based on audit findings
• Facilitates professional learning to address identified needs and strengthen instructional practices
• Coordinates with the CTE Coordinator, Program Specialist, and Teaching and Learning departments to ensure alignment and implementation
CTE Program of Studies (Program Development & Alignment)
• Refines and supports the development and implementation of CTE Programs of Study across middle and high schools promotion and communication
• Ensures alignment with the revised VDOE guidelines, national career clusters, and regional postsecondary pathways
• Collaborates with CTE Coordinator and Program Specialist to review and update course sequences and curriculum alignment
• Supports integration of academic, technical, and employability skills within programs and inclusion of IRC and available course levels and workforce data (specific to Capital Region)
• Coordinates with the CTE Director and other division departments
CTE Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRC) (Accountability & Instructional Support)
• Oversees implementation and tracking of Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRC) across CTE programs
• Monitors student credential attainment data and support accurate reporting for accountability measures
• Provides training and resources to teachers on credential preparation, testing procedures, and data reporting
• Supports data analysis and “data talks” to improve credential attainment outcomes
• Collaborates with teachers to align instruction with credential standards and industry expectations and student competency records
• Coordinates with the CTE Director and relevant departments to ensure program effectiveness and compliance
Budgetary Responsibility: This position has no budgetary responsibilities. Report Preparation: Weekly Progress reports to the CTE Director and State Reporting via the CTE Director; other related reports as requested Equipment Operation: Standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines
Contacts: Contacts are regularly made with the CTE Director and the CTE Coordinator. Additional contacts may include other CCPS personnel and outside agencies. Work Direction/Supervision: This position does not supervise or provide work direction to other positions.
Decision-Making: This position requires a high level of independent decision-making. Supervisor approval is sought in extenuating circumstances. Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities: This position has no formal policy-setting responsibilities.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of survey principles, concepts, and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and implement projects effectively. Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing. Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse professional staff. Demonstrated strengths in decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relations, long-range planning, and forecasting.
Additional Job Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) at the high school level, including CTE programs and career pathways. Experience in CTE program administration, state reporting, and program audits, along with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups.
