The Family Coordinator works closely with parents, caregivers, treatment teams, and community partners to coordinate services and support families involved in youth behavioral health treatment. Utilizing personal experience and a strengths-based approach, this position provides peer support, facilitates education and advocacy efforts, promotes family engagement in treatment, and helps families develop natural supports that contribute to long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:
· Promote family-centered care by encouraging active participation and involvement of family members in the youth's treatment process
· Collaborate with treatment teams to ensure services are delivered using a strengths-based, family-focused approach
· Provide peer support and guidance to families as they navigate behavioral health, substance use, and community service systems
· Assist families in identifying, developing, and maintaining natural supports and protective factors that promote long-term success
· Organize and facilitate parent education groups focused on family functioning, support strategies, and resource awareness
· Connect families with appropriate community resources and referral services based on identified needs
· Educate and empower families to effectively advocate for family-centered services on behalf of their youth
· Build collaborative relationships with agency partners and community organizations to support coordinated care
· Support and facilitate training opportunities for Family Support Specialists as assigned
· Maintain professional communication and collaboration with families, providers, and community stakeholders
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· High school diploma required
· Lived experience raising a child with substance use, mental health, or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders preferred but not required
· Knowledge of agency, partner, and community resources available to support youth and families receiving behavioral health services
Additional Qualifications:
· Current driver's license required
· Must maintain an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
· Successful completion of criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint background checks required
· Ability to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities
· Ability to work successfully with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, and economic backgrounds
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Willingness to advocate for family support services within systems of care serving youth and families
Physical Requirements
· Perform sedentary work requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and frequent exertion of negligible force to move objects
· Utilize hands, fingers, and arms for repetitive activities such as typing, writing, and documentation throughout the workday
· Remain seated for extended periods while completing administrative and documentation responsibilities
· Occasionally stand and walk while attending meetings, supporting families, and performing job-related duties
· Perform physical activities consistent with a sedentary work environment
