Summary Job Description:
Radiation Therapist Full-Time, First Shift
Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the radiation therapy technologist treats patients with ionizing radiation accurately and efficiently per physician’s prescription. Job Duties:
• Administers ionizing radiation and consults with Radiation Oncologist regarding examinations as necessary.
• Assists Radiation Oncologist in performing simulations and fabricating immobilization devices.
• Stocks treatment rooms with linen and supplies and maintains knowledge of equipment in all areas.
• Participates in the education of students of the Radiologic Technology Program and Radiation Therapy Program.
Requirements:
• Associate degree from an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes, or military training graduate of JRCERT-accredited program required.
• Active licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration required.
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience using Aria and Varian linear accelerators.
