Purpose: The New Business Team Lead provides day-to-day work direction and operational support to ensure new business is managed efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as a technical resource, monitors workflow health, balances inventory across the team, and partners with leaders to ensure service level commitments are achieved.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, operational judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. The Team Lead is a trusted resource who drives continuous improvement, embraces innovation, and leverages data and technology to improve operational efficiency. Accountabilities:
• Monitor daily workflow, inventory levels, queue health, and workload distribution to ensure service level commitments and quality standards are consistently achieved. • Provide day-to-day work direction, technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring while serving as a subject matter expert for new business processes, products, and systems. • Analyze operational trends, identify bottlenecks or inventory risks, capacity constraints and escalate as needed. Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, customer experience, and operational performance. • Partner with leaders, training, and technology teams to optimize staffing, support system enhancements, document processes, and improve operational readiness. • Support quality initiatives, special projects, and operational reporting while communicating inventory status, risks, and action plans to leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in insurance operations, financial services, workload management, operations planning, or other relevant experience. • Experience with life insurance, annuities, retirement services, or financial products, including interpreting operational data to make informed business decisions. • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, influence peers, solve operational problems, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while exhibiting innovation, critical thinking, and adaptability. • Strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Excel skills; experience with reporting tools, dashboards, and operational systems preferred. • Proven ability to coach and mentor peers, lead work assignments, and build collaborative relationships across teams. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Military experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
