About the role We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to lead our Frames & Crushing operation in Manurewa. This newly created role is responsible for a critical operational area supporting both manufacturing and recycling activities across the business.
This opportunity will suit a hands-on leader who is comfortable working alongside the team while providing guidance, coaching, and support. You will be responsible for setting, managing, and achieving production priorities, with a strong focus on safety, production efficiency, throughput, continuous improvement, and accurate operational reporting.
What will you do?
• Set, manage, and achieve daily production priorities, ensuring operational efficiency and throughout targets are met.
• Provide hands-on leadership, working alongside the team while driving performance, safety, and accountability.
• Oversee timber frame manufacturing and recycling operations, including material handling, crushing processes, and material segregation.
• Establish and maintain organised production areas, workflows, and operational standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, workflow, and safety outcomes.
• Lead, coach, and develop production teams, to build capability and engagement.
• Collaborate with internal departments and key stakeholders to support operational objectives and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Identify, investigate, and follow up on operational issues or process deviations to support continuous improvement and compliance.
• Maintain accurate inventory, material identification, and FIFO practices while supporting production and recycling targets.
• Support shift handovers, team communications, and toolbox talk to ensure alignment across the operation.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and safe work practices
What We're Looking For:
• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Leading Hand, Supervisor, or similar frontline leadership role.
• Experience within logistics, warehousing, recycling, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations.
• Flexible to occasionally adjust working hours to engage with afternoon and night shift teams as required.
• Strong computer literacy with proven experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish structure and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to promote safe work practices and a positive safety culture.
• A collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships across multiple departments and stakeholders.
• Open to learning, adaptable to change, and keen to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
