Exhibits effective time management skills, meeting attendance requirements, and maintaining schedule flexibility as required. Other duties as assigned. Maintains knowledge of online and system tools, ensuring consistent service during system downtime and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Works patient accounts for benefits and pre-certification, contacting physicians and appropriate staff, and notifying Patient Access of possible denials. Monitors team mailbox, email inbox, faxes, and phone calls, responding to Pre-Access account issues within defined time frames. Maintains close working relationships with clinical partners and ancillary departments to ensure open communication and effective operations. Conducts diligent follow-up on authorization accounts with third-party payers to minimize denials, updating documentation as needed. Greets all customers in a compassionate and helpful manner while providing exemplary customer service and assistance as needed. Reviews and codes Radiation Oncology clinical data to ensure compliance with insurance payor requirements and medical necessity. Contacts insurance companies to obtain benefits, eligibility, and authorization information, accurately entering required details into applicable systems. Notifies clinical counterparts of denials, meeting strict timely notification standards, and completes patient estimates for Radiation Oncology treatment plans. Ensures integrity of patient accounts by working error reports, entering accurate data, and providing timely coverage of assigned work areas. Uses caution to ensure obtained benefits, authorizations, and pre-certifications are accurate according to actual Radiation Oncology treatments and procedures.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to use discretion when discussing personnel and patient related issues that are confidential in nature. [Required] • Responsive to ever-changing matrix of hospital needs and acts accordingly. [Required] • Self-motivator, multitasker, prioritizes duties, pays attention to detail, and responsive to the needs of the department. [Required] • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel [Required] • Proficiency in performance of basic math functions, capability of communicating professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required] • Bi-lingual (English required and Spanish preferred), both written and verbal communication [Preferred] • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) [Preferred] • Experience working with and obtaining insurance authorizations. [Preferred] • Read and understand medical terminology [Preferred]

Education: Associate [Preferred]

Field of Study: Position is PRN. Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm as needed.

Work Experience:

• 1+ year experience in patient financial services, patient access, customer service, or related area (registration, finance, collections, customer service, medical office, or contract management) [Required] • 2+ years’ experience in oncology related business operations within specialty pharmacy, insurance verification, payor reimbursement guidelines, and/or authorization submission. familiarity with medical terminology and concepts. working knowledge with third party insurance administrators’ authorization and clinical care processes [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$15.46 - $24.73 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
