Carers will provide safe, effective care and help maintain a stimulating environment. They are expected to maintain competencies in clinical skills, recognise safeguarding concerns, and engage in a supportive team environment, also focusing on continuous professional development. Main Responsibilities Provide safe, effective care to children in their homes and the community, as delegated by the Named Nurse. Recognise safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures. Maintain competencies in specific clinical skills and be familiar with emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation when needed. Support childrens development in partnership with families and the team across various settings. Help maintain a safe, stimulating environment and record the childs condition, taking appropriate action. Organize daily activities and attend training and supervision sessions. Complete the HCRG Care Certificate within 3 months (if required) and stay updated with relevant training. Follow infection control and health & safety policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times. Communicate effectively, especially in situations with communication barriers, and liaise with the childs care team. Participate in team meetings, maintain accurate records, and support colleagues by sharing information and addressing concerns.Schedule:

Understanding the impact of providing/receiving care in the home for children with complex medical needs and their families Ability to participate in training of new staff in a variety of settings. Willingness to work towards experienced to teach part of Competency Framework Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to relate to children.Desirable
NVQ 3 in health or social care or recognised nursery nurse qualification GCSE in Maths and English British Sign Language level 1 Makaton Experience of relevant clinical procedures and technology dependency Minimum of 1yr experience working with children with complex health needs Minimum of 1yr working with children in other setting, e.g. nursery, respite serviceOther requirements: the successful applicant will need to be a car driver

Qualifications Essential
Understanding the impact of providing/receiving care for children with complex medical needs. Excellent communication skills, willingness to work towards' experienced to teach' competence, relate well to children. Desirable qualifications include NVQ 3 in health or social care, a nursery nurse qualification, minimum one-year experience with children with health needs, and proficiency in British Sign Language or Makaton.
