About this role
The Group Leader – Analytical Sciences is responsible for leading a team of analysts while maintaining strong technical engagement in analytical method development and protein characterization. This role combines hands-on scientific expertise with people leadership, project oversight, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of analytical scientists, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and professional growthPlan, assign, and oversee routine assay execution and method development activitiesDrive the development of novel separation and identification assaysLead separation, characterization, and identification of proteins and antibodies using:HPLC and UPLCcIEFBioA/GX and related analytical techniquesDevelop and optimize HPLC- and UPLC-based chromatography methods, including:Size exclusionAffinity chromatographyNormal-phaseReverse-phaseIon exchangeHydrophobic interaction chromatographyUtilize DAD and FLD detectors to support analytical method development and troubleshootingReview data, ensure accuracy and compliance, and support technical problem-solvingPartner with management and cross-functional teams to support project timelines, throughput, and continuous improvement initiatives BS or BA in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience); relevant industry experience may substitute for degree requirementsMinimum of 3 years of hands-on HPLC experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or biotechnology environmentsDemonstrated experience with HPLC and UPLC method developmentStrong background in protein and antibody separation and characterizationThorough understanding of chromatographic techniques including SEC, affinity, normal-phase, reverse-phase, ion exchange, and HICPrior leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and lead others in a laboratory settingStrong organizational, communication, collaboration, and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and positive leadership styleAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship What to Expect in the Hiring Process:
