Healthcare Assistant

Salary: Grade G Points 8-13 £26,824-£29,064 (FTE) - Actual Salary £22,967 to £24,885 pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Hours of Work:

Monday: 8.30am-4.30pm (Training)

Tuesday: 8.30am-4.30pm

Wednesday: 8.30am-5.00pm (Training)

Thursday: 8.30am-4.30pm

Friday: 8.30am-3.30pm

Daventry Hill School is a specialist school which caters for the needs of over 200 pupils from the ages of 4 to 18. Our fantastic pupils have a wide range of needs including PMLD, SLD, MLD and complex learning difficulties; with additional needs such as ASD and SLCN. The school is part of Creating Tomorrow Trust which is a growing Trust supporting schools who believe that children can achieve irrespective of their learning needs.

Our purpose is to create happy, successful people and our vision is to inspire and empower our young people to achieve success.

We are a school of choice and currently oversubscribed. We strongly believe in our wider commitment to the community and work with other schools and local businesses to develop the provision for young people with SEND as a whole.

We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to support our fantastic students, specifically those with identified additional/complex health needs. Candidates with suitable experience, motivation and commitment have the opportunity to apply for the role.

We would welcome applications from those with experience and understanding of working with children with identified additional/complex health needs in the health service, social care settings or in schools.

The position will include:

supporting students with their medication & healthcare needs

providing personal care and wellbeing

monitoring medical needs across the school

liaising with medical professionals

an experienced healthcare assistant, with knowledge of health care plans and medication administration

patient and sensitive to the needs of individuals

committed to working in a school supporting young people with additional needs

able to work as part of a team
