Job Summary: The Automation QA Assistant Manager supports the QA Manager in leading the automation testing efforts across software development projects. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality software through the implementation of automated testing strategies, tools, and frameworks. The position involves team coordination, test planning, and hands-on scripting, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
• - Automation Strategy & Execution: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts usingtools like Selenium, Playwright, UFT, or Cypress. - Implement and manage test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. - Ensure test coverage across functional, regression, and performance testing. - Team Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in automation best practices. - Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define test strategies. - Assist in resource planning and task allocation within the QA team. - Quality Assurance Oversight: Review test plans, test cases, and test scripts for accuracy and completeness. - Monitor and report on test execution, defect tracking, and quality metrics. - Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. - Process & Compliance: Ensure adherence to QA standards, policies, and procedures. - Support audits and compliance checks related to software quality. AI-Driven Testing: - AI and ML are being used to create predictive test cases, identify high-riskareas, and optimize test coverage. - Tools now offer self-healing scripts that automatically adapt to UI changes. - Codeless Test Automation: - Codeless platforms allow testers to create test cases using drag-and-drop interfaces or natural language, reducing the need for programming skills. - Supports remote collaboration, parallel testing, and on-demand environments. - Continuous Testing in CI/CD: - Testing is now integrated throughout the development lifecycle, not just at the end. - Emphasis on real-time feedback, risk-based testing, and automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines. - API Testing: - With the rise of microservices, contract testing, service virtualization, and API-first testing are becoming essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 9+ years of experience in
QA with at least 2 years in a lead or assistant manager role. - Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Playwright, UFT). - Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript). - Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla ADO - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
