Are you a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and a passion for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient mill operations? As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in directing the daily activities of skilled tradespersons including millwrights, electricians, and other maintenance professionals. In this position, you will supervise a team responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mill equipment to maximize uptime and ensure safe production. You'll coordinate work orders, support preventative maintenance planning, and partner closely with operations mangers to ensure equipment readiness. The salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
• Supervise and maintain plant systems and equipment including mechanical and electrical maintenance operations within one of our state-of-the-art Grand Lake Timber Sawmill located in Chipman, New Brunswick.
• Provide leadership, support, and direction to a maintenance team of 10-15 employees including skilled tradespeople and technicians.
• Ensure that maintenance work aligns with standards, specifications, and schedules, and that maintenance activities are aligned to model maintenance processes.
• Plans and organizes tasks for all technicians and tradespeople before the start of a shift and ensures clear communication to all departments and shifts.
• Ensures all health, safety, and regulations are followed
• Manages and maintains a preventive maintenance system to keep all day-to-day operations running smoothly and to minimize impacts to production and overall sawmill performance.
• Drive a continuous improvement mindset with your team regarding productivity, quality, and safety, and provide support on initiatives such as capital projects and shutdowns.
• Provide regular coaching and training to your team to maintain standards and technical skills.
• Post-secondary degree/diploma preferably in industrial technology or engineering and/or a Red Seal in a mechanical or electrical trade.
• Ideal candidates will possess 4-7 years of supervisory experience along with the demonstrated the ability to lead a team. Experience within a production environment is preferred.
