About this role

The Seminaries and Institutes (SAI) department is seeking a dedicated and organised Administrative Assistant to join its team at the Sydney Office. This permanent part-time (30.4 hours per week) position reports directly to SAI Coordinator with a target commencement date of 17 August 2026. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a meaningful educational mission within a supportive and collaborative environment.

• Compile data from various sources to prepare memos, documents, reports, spreadsheets (including charts and graphs), and presentations using diverse software and platforms

• Perform research, analyze information, and make recommendations based on findings

• Take meeting minutes and manage meeting documentation

• Use computer applications and software to schedule meetings, appointments, and maintain calendars

• Provide administrative training to teachers one-to-one and in council meetings and organise refreshments.

• Support projects, programs, or processes e.g. social media posts, event creations and invitations

• Answer moderately complex telephone and email requests

• Reconcile expenses, ordering and maintaining stock whilst working within the office budget.

• Occasional work outside regular office hours

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

• Entry to working-level experience in administrative support

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems

• Experience in Seminary and Institute as a student or teacher is preferred

• Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks effectively

• Problem-solving capability and ability to resolve basic issues independently

• Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documents and reports

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information with discretion

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others

• Ability to operate standard office equipment

• Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude

• Proof of legal right to work in Australia

• A police background check may be required
