About this role
Responsible for dual jobs of overseeing security operations and officer duties as needed per schedule
• Supports Security manager in daily operations, ensures compliance of policies & procedures, ensures manpower & equipment meet daily requirements.
• Reviews schedules, reports, etc & makes necessary adjustments.
• Inspects Officer’s appearance, abilities, attitude & compliance’s with standards.
• Ensures training of all officers ensures safety standards & prepares all appropriate reports.
• Conducts daily post checks, monitors manpower status board, takes corrective action regarding complaints.
• Assist Security manager in preparation of evaluations & makes recommendations.
• Reviews, recommends or initiates appropriate action on those who fail to comply with policy, procedures or rules.
• Acts as on scene Commander for all major incidents
• Advises management of all pertinent info regarding shift or department
• Responsible for safety & protection of the Casino, employees & guests
• High school diploma preferred
• 5 years of law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Some casino security experience preferred.
• 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, oral and written skills
• Effective communication (written, verbal and presentation)
• Must be able to obtain a Virginia Gaming License from the VA Lottery.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke.
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.
• Able to walk, work and stand, inside and outside, occasionally in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold in excess of 10 degrees.
• Able to physically restrain adults in excess of 200 pounds.
• Able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
• Able to work independently.
• Able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
• Able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
• Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.
• Ability to tolerate area’s containing secondary smoke.
• Must be able to bend, twist, turn, squat and rotate body.
• Must be able to lift above the head occasionally.
• Run on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
• Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations. Wage: $23.00 an hour.
