Job Title: Student Worker - Information Security Intern - BC Job Classification: Business Operations, Student Department: ITS Information Security Services Hiring Manager: Chris Garmon Contact: [email protected] Work Schedule: Flexible hours Desired Length of Employment: Ongoing Pay Rate: $10.00/hr Job Description: Tier 1 SOC Analyst Mission Tier 1 - Tier 1 analysts are the triage specialists to security events and alerts. Tier 1 analysts conduct initial triage of incidents utilizing our suite of security tools to determine whether an incident is a True or False positive. Tier 1 analysts escalate any incident that they find to be severe or are unable to triage to Tier 2 analysts for further investigation. Functions • Monitor security events received through alerts from SIEM or other security tools • Revise alerts escalated by end users • Carry out Level 1 triage of incoming issues (initial assessing the priority of the event, initial determination of incident to determine risk and damage or appropriate routing of security or privacy data request) • Carry out limited incident response to end users for low complexity security incidents • Maintain assigned ticket queue • Participate actively in the resolution of incidents, even after they are escalated • Ability to comply with University policies and procedures • Maintain regular and punctual attendance Employer: Baylor University Work Location: Parking Facility Dutton Work Address: 1111 S University Parks Dr, Waco, TX 76706
