Position Purpose The Home Shopping Department Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Home Shopping operation, including customer satisfaction, order fulfillment, delivery performance, labor management, associate development, and operational execution. This position ensures online orders are accurately selected, staged, and delivered while maintaining productivity, quality, and service standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Home Shopping associates. • Provide clear direction and performance feedback to team members. • Create and maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment. • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to support business needs. • Conduct ongoing training related to productivity, customer service, and operational procedures. • Support succession planning and associate career development. Customer Experience • Deliver an exceptional online shopping experience for customers. • Ensure orders are selected accurately and completed on time. • Resolve customer concerns, substitutions, missing items, and service recovery situations promptly. • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction. • Promote service standards that build customer loyalty and repeat business. Operational Excellence • Manage daily Home Shopping operations, including order fulfillment, staging, pickup, and delivery processes. • Monitor order volume and schedule labor resources accordingly. • Ensure all company procedures and operational standards are followed. • Oversee inventory accuracy and product availability for online customers. • Maintain productivity expectations for selectors and delivery associates. • Ensure proper handling of perishable and non-perishable merchandise. Financial Performance • Manage department labor expenses and productivity metrics. • Monitor key performance indicators including order accuracy, fulfillment rates, customer satisfaction scores, and sales growth. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service standards. • Support achievement of department sales and profitability goals. Safety & Compliance • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. • Maintain a safe work environment for associates and customers. • Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety procedures. • Conduct routine inspections and address identified safety concerns. • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with delivery and operational guidelines. Merchandising & Inventory Management • Monitor in-stock conditions to support online order fulfillment. • Coordinate with department managers to address out-of-stock conditions and product availability issues. • Ensure substitutions meet company standards and customer expectations. • Maintain organization and cleanliness within Home Shopping staging and work areas. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Strong leadership and coaching skills. • Excellent customer service and communication abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Knowledge of online order fulfillment processes and inventory management. • Ability to analyze performance metrics and implement improvement strategies. • Proficiency with retail technology and Home Shopping software systems. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional store teams.
