About this role

Job summary

Are you an innovative clinician with expertise in both Childrens ADHD assessments and ADHD prescribing, excited to use technology and AI tools to improve care for families?

This role combines ADHD neurodevelopmental assessment and prescribing responsibilities into a single integrated clinician role, enabling continuity of care for families from assessment through treatment.

We are not a standard ADHD service. We:

Have built our own technology and AI tools to gather clinical information and support documentation, allowing clinicians to focus on families and children

Provide multidisciplinary ADHD assessments aligned with NICE guidance

Have an integrated electronic prescribing system within our electronic patient record

Use NHS Electronic Prescribing Service access, enabling prescriptions to be sent directly to pharmacies

Prioritise clinician development, innovation, and collaborative working

If you have the appropriate experience, there may also be opportunities to work across Childrens Autism, Dual Autism & ADHD pathways, and Adult ADHD prescribing pathways.

Main duties of the job

Deliver high-quality Childrens ADHD neurodevelopmental assessments

Deliver ADHD prescribing care, including: Medication initiation, titration, and review appointments

Present assessment findings in a strengths-based, client-centred manner

Conduct safeguarding and risk assessments where required

Support GPs with shared care queries when appropriate

Maintain professional registration, mandatory training, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Share ideas to improve Palomas software tools and clinical pathways

Contribute positively to a collaborative and innovative clinical culture

You will be part of our much needed NHS service, Neurodevelopmental Assessments for children and young people (CYP). This covers both autism and ADHD assessments, and will include a combined assessment pathway.

We need your help to innovate and tackle the crisis in NHS Neurodevelopmental Services as set out in the October 2024 Childrens Commissioner report, with hundreds of thousands of children waiting 2+ years for an autism and/or ADHD assessment.

Responsibilities

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

An NMC-registered Nurse And you have: At least 4 years of experience delivering Childrens ADHD assessments At least 4 years of experience within Childrens ADHD prescribing services Strong understanding of: Typical child development across life stages ADHD presentations and differential diagnoses Co-occurring conditions Cultural considerations in neurodevelopmental assessments Excellent communication and caseload management skills Experience delivering client-centred feedback and recommendations Ability to pass an enhanced DBS with barred list check

Desirable

Experience in Adult ADHD prescribing services Experience in Childrens Autism Assessments or Dual Assessments Experience conducting risk assessments in neurodevelopmental services Safeguarding training Level 3 or above
