Job summary
The role requires a self-motivated, disciplined individual to assist with the day-to-day smooth running of the practice. The chosen candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a superb communicator both written and verbally and be flexible and adaptable in theirapproach to work within the team.
The successful candidate will be working with the public face to face and over the telephone to provide a high level of care and customer service to patients by booking appointments,dealing with general enquiries and navigating to appropriate services. Candidateswill also provide administrative support to clinical colleagues.You will have a caring and courteous manner but focused on the task and enjoy working with a wide variety of people. The successful candidate will also be required to work at times unsupervised and display initiative when resolving queries.This post requires you to be organised and adaptable with excellent IT skills as well as a can do attitude. Experience of EMIS Clinical System would be an advantage.

Care Navigator
The Care Navigator is the first point of contact for patients, providing a professional reception service while ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or healthcare service.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.Use care navigation principles to signpost patients to the appropriate clinician, service or self-care option.Book, amend and manage appointments in line with practice protocols.Process repeat prescription requests and assist with test result enquiries.Register new and temporary patients and maintain accurate patient records using EMIS Web.Scan, code and input clinical correspondence as required.Answer telephone calls, respond to enquiries and take messages accurately.Receive payments for private services where applicable.Maintain a clean, organised reception and waiting area.Follow information governance, confidentiality and GDPR requirements.Support opening and closing procedures and report IT or operational issues.Undertake training and any other duties appropriate to the role.Person Specification
Essential: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths; experience in a busy customer-facing environment; excellent communication, IT and organisational skills; ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, maintain confidentiality and work effectively within a team.

Job PurposeThe Care Navigator is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a professional, efficient and compassionate service. The role involves assessing patient enquiries using care navigation principles, directing patients to the most appropriate clinician or service, and supporting the smooth running of the practice through reception and administrative duties.
