The Electrophysiology department is the biggest in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe. Electrophysiology along with Interventional cardiology make up one of the three directorates within the Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The Barts Heart Centre is the biggest in the UK with its complement of 10 catherisation labs (5 of which are dedicated to EP) and 10 cardiothoracic theatres.

Job description Job responsibilities
The post includes two days in the catheter lab at Barts Hospital and two clinics at Whipps Cross Hospital. The department is looking for someone with a keen sub-specialty interest to help lead the department and the field in their chosen area of sub-specialisation.

Professional Qualifications Essential
Full registration with the GMC/eligible for registration Within 6 months of CCST in Cardiology at interview date MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Desirable
Teaching qualification Higher degree e.g. PhD/ MD submitted/awarded (copy to be brought to the interview)
Clinical Experience & Skills Essential
Fully trained in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac device implantation

Verifiable subspecilaity skill Demonstration of sub-specialty interest
Clinical Knowledge Essential
All aspects of cardiac electrophysiology and general cardiology

First and last name authorship in publications relevant to this post. Being a named applicant on grants. Experience of setting up collaborative multicentre research projects. Demonstration of a research track record relevant to the candidate's sub-specialty interest.
