Main duties of the job
The midwife is responsible and accountable for his/her own midwiferypractice. To work in partnership with women and their families, GP, obstetrician andother agencies to ensure optimum care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of mothers and babies inaccordance with the Trust's policies and guidelines. Strive for continuity of care and informed client choice within the limitations ofthe service. Facilitate the learning of midwifery skills through supervision, teaching andsupport. Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arrangingsupport for women as required. Participate in parent information groups, facilitating preparation for childbirthand the postnatal period.
