Our Operational Trainers play a key part in ensuring the continued delivery of Good and Outstanding care, as they ensure every member of staff is confident and competent in their ability to work in a person centred and compassionate manner.
You will provide induction and development training to circa 4 homes across a specific region - locations including Witney, Chipping Norton and 2 homes in Jersey. The successful candidate will be required to travel to Jersey every 6 weeks for a period of 4 days to undertake training for the home (including paid travel and accommodation).
As one of the initial points of contact between Barchester and a new member of staff, our Trainers should demonstrate passion for their role and the Barchester ethos. This varied position will provide the opportunity to witness the skilled progression of staff from their first day, throughout their Barchester career.
This is a home-based position that will involve travel around the region and locations mentioned above.
Main duties of the job This job involves providing induction and development training to Barchester Healthcare staff in approximately four homes within a specific region, including Witney, Chipping Norton, and two homes in Jersey. The position requires 40 hours of work per week with a base salary of £34,000 and an additional £6,000 annual car allowance. Responsibilities include planning and delivering training sessions, maintaining training records, and supporting new employees through their induction period. This requires regular travel, including bi-monthly trips to Jersey. Essential qualifications include a C&G 7300 or equivalent, a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or relevant experience, understanding of legislative requirements in the care sector, at least two years of training experience, and a valid UK driver's license.

NEED TO DO Coordination and delivery of induction and development training against Barchester objectives and training statistics Provide practical, hands on training across a variety of subjects Plan and publish training calendars Ensure employee training files are up to date Observe workplace practice Arrange induction paperwork and a buddy in advance of a new employee starting Maintain regular contact with new team members, coaching and supporting where appropriate Attend meetings and conferences external to the home where required Promote learning and development opportunities that Barchester offer Work with Home Managers to ensure the implementation of individual personal development plans
