This post is for a KTP associate based at James Walker Sealing Systems in Bingley and working with WMG at the University of Warwick, working in the Power Electronics and Electric Machines Group. It involves working with a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, controls and production colleagues on the development of a smart mechanical stress monitoring system.

About You

We seek an electronics engineer to work on remote monitoring instrumentation using best practice communications protocols, hardware development and validation. The project will create a viable, commercially acceptable remote monitoring system that will measure mechanical stress, collect data and communicate to a central computing facility. The product will be applied to renewables, power generation and heavy industry applications.

You will have a degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a similar discipline, have a broad experience of product hardware and software design, including system modelling, circuit design and communications theory, project delivery and engineering expertise in industry and/or academia, with the ability to make best possible use of our state-of-the-art research facilities and to transfer knowledge internally and externally. The successful applicant will have know-how in Design for Manufacture, service and end-of-life, including familiarity with appropriate HSE and WEEE regulations
