About this role
Position Summary The part-time daycare instructor is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves implementing age-appropriate curriculum, supervising children, and leading classroom staff to support each child's developmental, social, and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities
• Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
• Lead and support assistant teachers and aides in classroom activities
• Monitor and assess children's developmental progress and maintain accurate records
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with licensing regulations
• Model appropriate behavior and classroom management techniques
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a childcare or preschool setting
• Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Certifications & Requirements
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Background check clearance in accordance with state licensing requirements
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 30 lbs, standing, bending, etc.)
