About this role

SUMMARY: Provides specialized services to grades K-12 for the support of school improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensuring implementation of a standards-based approach to teaching and learning throughout the instructional day

• Meeting with the principal about coaching and/or mentoring teachers

• Supports and coaches classroom teachers in implementing effective instruction

• Mentoring new teachers in conjunction with induction program

• Attending staff and PLC team meetings to monitor instructional planning

• Monitor implementation of the school improvement plan

• Assist with implementation of curriculum across the District.

• Providing resources for teachers and the principals as needed

• Working with the Office of School Improvement Staff

• Assisting the principal plan, develop, and provide professional development in research-based SEI strategies.

• Assisting in the implementation and desegregation of benchmark assessment data to be used to drive instruction

• Assisting principal with review and implementation of standards-based lesson plans

• Remaining current with new research and scientifically-based programs/materials: attend appropriate conferences and workshops

• Observing and providing feedback with regard to effective classroom management techniques

• Assisting with effective instructional strategies that will benefit all students.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Evaluations

• Student or employee discipline

• Student counseling

• Student home visits

• PTSO, Site Council, sport or club sponsorship

• Lunch, recess, before/after school duties

• Substituting for a teacher/covering classes

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Master's Degree in Education, Curriculum or other related field preferred

• Minimum Five (5) years classroom experience

• ESL Endorsement or SEI Certificate required

• Instructional Coaching experience preferred

• Knowledge of K-12 District curriculum and state standards

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Arizona Teaching Certificate

• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Eleven (11) month contract.
