Open Until Filled PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under minimum supervision, assist HVAC Technicians in troubleshooting vital comfort, energy, indoor air quality, safety and scheduling concerns related to HVAC systems and controls. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent Valid Driver License Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material and understand oral directions Perform mathematical calculations Diagnose and resolve problems Self-motivated, detail oriented, and to be able to carry out assignments independently Create and support a safe work environment Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the general public Work Conditions: Tools/Equipment Used: Electrical measuring and testing equipment; hand tools; power tools Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over) occasionally; up to 25 pounds frequently; up to 10 pounds daily Environment: Maintain emotional control under stress; work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; may work on rooftops; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; may work irregular and prolonged hours including weekends; frequent changes in task; frequent districtwide travel
Regular attendance is an essential function Minimum Experience: Advanced computer skills preferred MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provide systems operations data and trend logging reports.
• Manage BAS access and privileges for technicians and other staff as needed.
• Program BAS databases and sequences of operation.
• Troubleshoot and refine BAS onsite or via Intranet, resulting in optimized building equipment operation, energy utilization, indoor air quality and comfort.
• Modify programming and graphics as necessary.
• Handle scheduling of HVAC equipment to meet comfort demands.
• Act as on-call technician on a 24/7, 365 day basis for all after hours scheduling and other HVAC/controls related issues.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
• Perform work to support the vision, mission, values and goals of the Maintenance department and AISD
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
• Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
