Open Until Filled. 12 month position KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Candidate must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to get along well with others and must possess basic skills and knowledge of diagnostic testing equipment. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Endorsement of Master School Bus Technician or demonstrated positive progress towards earning said endorsement is required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Candidate must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school including or supplemented by experience or training as a mechanic. Evidence of prior successful experience as a journeyman automobile and/or truck fleet mechanic is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Candidate must possess, or be willing to obtain within six months of employment, a valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes, School Bus, and Passenger Bus Endorsements, as well as a valid Virginia State Inspection license. Candidate must possess good moral character and is expected to be a role model, in and out of the school, consistent with the Rockingham County Public Schools' Pillars of Character, as defined in the Student Conduct Policy, JFC.
