Reports to: Principal Terms of Employment: Part-time Position Location: Frederick Douglass Elementary Qualifications and Licensure
• Knowledge of current teaching standards and research-based teaching strategies
• Evidence of teacher effectiveness (assessment data or EVAAS teacher effectiveness data)
• Active North Carolina Teaching License
Essential Job Functions:
• Utilizes student data and observations of student work to determine student needs
• Plans daily intervention lessons that are based on student need and the NC Standard Course of Study.
• Facilitates engaging small group instruction for students
• Maintains open communication with the student's regular classroom teacher and their parent/guardian to ensure student needs are being met
• Maintains records of student progress and attendance
• Uses effective classroom management strategies to create a safe, positive learning environment
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
