STATUS: Part-time (2-3 days per week, set schedule with modified hours); 550 or less hours Daily rate is prorated based on the current certificated salary schedule (starting salary: $45,500). Placement includes all applicable certificated years of service. This position does not qualify for healthcare benefits. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Embedded English IV Teacher integrates the English IV curriculum into Career and Technology (CTC) courses. This role involves curriculum development, direct student instruction, and teacher coaching to ensure students meet English IV requirements through their career and technical coursework. Responsibilities
• Curriculum Development: Create a scope and sequence for English IV instruction tailored to the specific CTC courses where the credit is embedded.
• Co-Teaching & Instruction: Collaborate with CTC teachers to design and deliver lessons, assessments, and feedback.
• Teacher Coaching: Model instructional strategies for CTC staff to assist them in maintaining English IV standards within their programs.
• Systems Management: Develop a standardized system for Embedded English IV that can be replicated in subsequent school years.
Experience teaching English IV preferred, previous secondary English teaching required. Must hold a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in English or Language Arts for grades 9-12. Please call Mr. Cory DeVaul, Director of CTC (816-650-7184), for more information.
