About this role
Lake City Middle School is looking for a certified Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is to provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of elementary students with disabilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the classroom.
• Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and other materials, considering factors such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, learning styles and physical limitations of students.
• Collaborates with regular education teachers in providing an appropriate curriculum for students with disabilities based on the Tennessee general curriculum.
• Evaluates student progress and establishes student behavior.
• Attends and conducts IEP meetings.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Valid teacher's license with appropriate Special Education endorsement; strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
