About this role
Durango School District is accepting applications for Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Miller Middle School. This coaching position involves instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of basketball. Season runs October 2026 - December 2026. The position begins September 01, 2026. Preferred Qualifications
• Plan and organize practices
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
• Provide feedback to help players improve
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
• Assist head coach in other duties
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
• Possess fundamental knowledge of basketball
• Experience coaching school-aged athletes
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
