About this role
Part-Time School Communications Specialist / Paraeducator – Atlantic Community School District Atlantic Community School District is seeking a positive, flexible, and student-centered individual to serve in a combined role as a Part-Time School Communications Specialist and Part-Time Paraeducator. This unique position will support both district communication efforts and student learning needs while helping promote a positive school culture and strong community engagement. Qualifications
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
• Experience in communications, marketing, education, or related field preferred
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and technology skills
• Experience with social media, photography, graphic design, or website updates preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community members
• Paraeducator certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Job Responsibilities Communications Specialist Responsibilities
• Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field preferred
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Experience with social media platforms, graphic design, photography, and website management preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and community members
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and remain accountable for meeting communication timelines, publishing expectations, and project deadlines
• Develop and share district news, highlights, promotional materials, and communication pieces that support district initiatives and programs
• Manage district social media accounts, website updates, newsletters, graphics, and press releases
• Assist with photography, promotion, and coverage of school events and activities
• Support community engagement efforts and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, families, and community organizations
• Assist administrators with public information requests and district communication needs
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive communication with all stakeholders
• Promote the mission and values of Atlantic Community School District through effective and engaging communication
• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, initiative, and strong organizational skills
• Attend select district events and activities as needed

Paraeducator Responsibilities
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and student support
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning
• Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and preparation of materials
• Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
