Jenks Public Schools Job Description Position: Behavior Intervention Assistant Reports to: Site Principal Supervises: None Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.

• Three to five years of experience providing students with behavioral support preferred.

• Satisfy Every Student Succeeds Act requirements by:

• Completed at least 2 years of study (48 hrs.) at an institution of higher ed, or

• Hold an associate's degree or higher, or

• Obtained a National Career Readiness Certificate through successful completion of the ACT, WorkKeys Assessment, or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment Test - Passing Score is 455, or

• Passed the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test.

• Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: Assist in the implementation of behavior skills instruction and interventions designed to meet the specific goals and objectives for children with behavioral intervention needs. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide behavior support and interventions to students in 1:1 and group settings.

• Use intensive teaching and environmental behavior interventions.

• Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.

• Follow and record data for prescribed protocols, as instructed.

• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.

• Model and support intervention strategies in student(s) in classrom.

• Effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers and related staff regarding student progress.

• Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with students.

• Assist teacher in preparing student materials as instructed.

• Participate in professional learning and other training programs, as required.

• Maintain student confidentiality.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contract FLSA Qualification: Non-Exempt Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Staff Evaluation (2.21/classified).
