ISD Monitor @ Ponca City Senior High Reports to: Building Principal Supervises: Students Qualifications: 48 Hours College Credit OR Passing Score on Paraprofessional Test High School Diploma or Equivalent Previous Experience Working With Students Job Goal: Supervises and monitors students and their completion of assignments while assigned to in-school detention. Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Note - these duties vary based upon the individual student needs and Individualized Education Plans. Typical duties may include:
• Works under the direction of teachers and administrators to ensure that students have assignments and necessary materials to complete their work.
• Monitors students' completion of assignments.
• Checks completed assignments against what was requested by the teacher.
• Tracks assignment completion.
• Responsible for the welfare and safety of students.
• Ensures compliance with all school rules, procedures, and policies.
• Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
