Maintenance and Transportation Manager Position Summary The Maintenance and Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and efficiency of all district facilities, grounds, vehicles, and transportation services. This position ensures that school buildings, buses, and district property are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition that supports student learning and district operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance and Facilities

• Supervise and coordinate custodial staff.

• Develop work schedules and assign duties to staff.

• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for district buildings, grounds, and equipment.

• Coordinate repairs and maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other facility systems.

• Ensure facilities meet health, safety, fire, and regulatory compliance standards.

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

• Maintain records related to maintenance activities, inspections, warranties, and repairs.

• Assist with facility planning and capital improvement projects.

• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs, projects, and services.

• Monitor inventory and purchase maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

• Assist with snow removal, grounds upkeep, and seasonal maintenance tasks.

Transportation

• Collaborate with Fleet Manager to supervise transportation operations, including scheduling and fleet management.

• Ensure district transportation services operate safely and efficiently.

• Coordinate maintenance and inspections for all district vehicles and buses.

• Maintain compliance with state and federal transportation regulations.

• Coordinate transportation for extracurricular and special events.

• Monitor fuel usage, vehicle records, and transportation budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical training preferred.

• Experience in facilities maintenance, transportation management, or related field preferred.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and transportation operations.

• Ability to operate maintenance equipment and district vehicles safely.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations and compliance requirements.

• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods.

• Ability to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours when necessary.

Terms of Employment

• Full-time, year-round position.
