Winfield Mt Union Community School District Job Title: EXTRA-CURRICULAR SPONSOR Reports to: High School Principal Basic Function: To teach and instruct students in their activity of assignment. Essential Functions:
• Teach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the activity involved.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Work closely with the principal in scheduling practices or contests.
• Recommend purchase of supplies as appropriate.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned activity is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Represent the district in a positive image
• Adhere to all board policies
• Follow all state mandates for your activity
• Present team and individual awards at the designated school sponsored awards night if applicable.
• At the conclusion of the activity all equipment, props, audio equipment must be stored in a proper location that does not interfere with other activities or educational classes. Audio equipment needs to be in a secured and locked location.
• Required to work minimum of three concessions prior to other fundraising opportunities.
• Attend and participate in the following activities where applicable:
• State and District Contests
• Band and Vocal Concerts including Café Concert
• Jazz, Marching, Pep Band, and Show Choir Contests
• Honor Band & Choir
• FFA Conventions & State Fair
• Class Sponsors must organize homecoming float and other grade level activities and have one parent meeting to discuss current funds and what funds will be used for in future years.
