About this role

To assist the Head Football Coach in developing and maintaining a competitive football program that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, character, and student-athlete growth both on and off the field. Qualifications

• Valid Iowa coaching authorization or coaching endorsement required.

• Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.

• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Football Coach with planning, organizing, and conducting practices and competitions.

• Teach fundamental football skills, techniques, and strategies appropriate to student-athlete development.

• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect among student-athletes.

• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities.

• Assist with equipment management, inventory, and maintenance.

• Help monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.

• Ensure compliance with district policies, athletic department expectations, and state athletic association regulations.

• Support efforts to maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants.

• Assist with game preparation, scouting reports, film breakdown, and other coaching responsibilities as assigned.

• Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff, administration, and community members.

• Attend coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, and required district trainings.

• Model professionalism and positive conduct at all times.
