About this role
The Pleasant Hope R-6 School District has a position open for a high school assistant baseball coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Assistant Coach Goal / Purpose: Assistant coach will work under a head coach to make sure players, equipment and facilities are well-prepared and organized. Candidates are also responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all assigned duties and coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Descriptions:
• To comply with school and school board policies and regulations. As well as policies set forth by MSHSAA
• To assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment and facilities.
• Assist head coach in developing and maintaining a year round strength and conditioning program.
• Assists in the overall development of all levels of the sport in the community.
• Help with the Development and organization of practice programs.
• Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal, superintendent may assign.
• To demonstrate professional growth by attending various camps, clinics, etc.
• To promote positive interaction with student athletes, the school and community.
• To demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning.
• To demonstrate an interest in student athletes and the overall athletic program.
• To encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students.
• Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
• Develop short and long term goals, and work cooperatively with others to accomplish goals
